WISE is seeking one individual who is deeply passionate about using sport for empowerment to join our team in a fundraising and development role. This opportunity is suitable for someone with at least three years of demonstrable achievement in some or a combination of the following: strategy, fundraising, stakeholder management, project management, grant-writing, partnership development and communications.

About the Development Manager / Assistant Manager role

The applicant will report to the Founder and Interim Director at WISE, and work with the Fundraising Committee, chaired by members of the Board of Directors at WISE. The applicant will play an integral role in leading business development activities through collaborations, partnerships and sponsorships that will generate monetary and non-monetary resources that support WISE’s effective functioning.

 The priorities of the applicant will be to:

  • Maintain and grow a pipeline of diverse funders and donors that support WISE’s programs and operations
  • Secure corporate giving and volunteering that will broaden awareness of WISE within the business world 
  • Increase the visibility of WISE to sports-related organizations, such as clubs, associations and competition organizers
  • Work with the broader Team WISE to generate and activate fundraising and partnership ideas
  • Maintain the funder and donor database, including to timely and accurately record all donations and funding received and prepare regular communications to keep them abreast of developments at WISE

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Manage and maintain relationships with past and current grantmakers through regular and accurate communications and reporting
  • Writing and submitting grant applications where pertinent
  • Organizing fundraising events 
  • Creating awareness-raising campaigns to raise the profile of WISE within certain communities and networks

Aside from the above, the applicant may on occasion be tasked with ad hoc activities pertaining to partnership building and fundraising.


Requirements

  • Track record of acquisition and retention of donors / supporters / clients, and in fundraising
  • Comfortable with networking, with existing connections in the corporate world or sports ecosystem in Hong Kong
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to manage relationships with key decision makers
  • Ability to self-manage with good time management and project management abilities such as strong planning, budgeting and financial management skills
  • Team player who is willing to contribute to the overall team by giving feedback, ask hard questions, listen to different perspectives and be adaptable to change
  • Fluency in spoken and written Cantonese and English 
  • Commitment to working a minimum of 2.5 days per week (hybrid work mode)
  • Must have right to work in Hong Kong


The applicant should be able to support WISE part-time starting from April or May 2025. The title and remuneration will be commensurate with their experience. This is a contract position with possibility to turn into a full-time position.
