Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world and create change. Greenpeace East Asia is recruiting a Communication Officer to support our campaign project with on and offline platforms communications expertise. This position requires strong specialized skills and experience in communications-related areas, including knowledge of traditional and digital media, great project management skills, and the ability to create and pitch compelling stories to enhance Greenpeace’s ability in news-making and building public support.

 

We are looking for qualified applicants to take this post. Core duties will include:

 

  • Identify opportunities for proactive and reactive communications in traditional, new media and social media
  • Coordinate and execute cohesive, creative and effective communications strategies with appealing storytelling to increase the visibility and credibility of Greenpeace campaigns in traditional, new media and social media
  • Work with agencies, designers and vendors to produce high-quality content, creative tools and databases for effective communications
  • Handle press enquiries and respond to public inquiries about campaign issues and other organisational matters including crisis management

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and/or Communication
  • At least 2 years of related experience, preferably as a Journalist in the media industry
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, written Chinese, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Strong strategic, research and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines, including a flexible mindset regarding working hours;
  • Commitment to, and demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Commitment to the mission, principles and values of Greenpeace.
