Reporting to Group Financial Controller of Jardine Matheson Limited and as a member of the Group Finance team, you will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations as well as to undertake ad hoc assignments requested by Group Finance Director and senior management. You will also support and participate in the finance technology and transformation initiatives.

  • Analyse financial performance of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited (‘the Group’), reconcile financial discrepancies and summarizes financial information for all aspects of reporting from the business units for inclusion into the Group consolidated results, financial position and cash flow.
  • Participate in preparing timely and accurate financial reports including monthly management accounts, forecast, budget, statutory accounts, and Hong Kong tax computation and filing.
  • Participate in the preparation of financial related information in the Group’s Annual Report, and Annual and Interim Results Announcements.
  • Timely and accurate review of month end closing and accounting transactions to ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards and regulations.
  • Participate in ad hoc assignments and prepare ad hoc analysis for senior management to support their decision making on projects, including acquisitions, restructuring or asset disposals.
  • To assist Group Taxation on Group level tax issues and Group Treasury on Group level treasury issues.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of an effective management reporting framework for the Group and to ensure that Group reporting policies/requirements are prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs).
  • Lead, coach, supervise and motivate supporting colleagues and the Shared Service team to ensure smooth operation and his/her own eventual succession.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance teams of Group companies and provide coaching and assistance in relation to group financial reporting requirements, when necessary.
  • Provide ongoing improvements to the finance operation to enhance effectiveness and efficiency; and participate in new finance technology and transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency as and when needed.
  • Remain abreast of current development in accounting standards, best accounting practices, financial regulations and legislation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, with HKICPA qualification or equivalent.
  • 8 years of working experience with minimum 6 years in audit with Big 4; and accountancy experience in a MNC environment would be a plus.
  • Strong technical and financial accounting knowledge, as well as strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in finance technology solutions, such as CCH Tagetik, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred and proficient in Microsoft office applications.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments, work under tight timelines and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Flexible and organized with attention to detail and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate leadership quality and ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate professionally to both finance and non-finance teams.
