Main task

Lead and optimise production processes required to ensure that the company meets its objectives in terms of in enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and driving continuous improvement that fosters innovation and excellence throughout the operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the processes of the facility; proposing process adjustments or optimisations with a view to optimising the operational performance of the Facility; coordinating with the operation department for implementation of process improvements.
  • Develop strategies to enhance process efficiency, and to lower operational costs while meeting production targets.
  • Supervise and train laboratory personnel and process engineers, ensuring staff development and performance evaluation, schedule staff shift and allocate resources effectively to meet laboratory demands.
  • Regularly analyse production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess process efficiency and identify trends.
  • Lead team related to process improvements, technology upgrades, and capacity expansion.
  • Developing and managing budgets for process-related operational expenditures.
  • Developing and maintaining channels to ensure valorisation of the compost and soil conditioner.
  • Production of the company’s technical reporting (internal reports, reports to the Employer and to the JV’s partners).
  • Coordination with the O&M department to achieve the above-mentioned objectives.

Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience which 5 years of experience in the field of anaerobic digestion, wastewater treatment and composting.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights for process improvements.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coach staff.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Fluent in English; Cantonese would be a plus.

Oscar Bioenergy JV is the subsidiary of Veolia in Hong Kong. O·PARK1 on Lantau Island, is Hong Kong's first of its kind food waste recycling project. It is able to treat 73,000 tonnes of food waste from restaurants and food factories annually. The project, operating in the name of OSCAR Bioenergy Joint Venture, applies biological treatment, such as anaerobic and composting processes, to convert waste into methane gas and organic fertilizer. The plant is fully in accordance with the Chinese and EU standards, and the strictest safety and environmental requirements.
