CAMPUS FACILITIES AND SUSTAINABILITY OFFICE
Facilities Officer (Building Maintenance) (Ref. 250311006-IE)
Duties
The appointee will report to the Technical Services Section in the area of building maintenance and be required to:
(a) plan, organise and supervise contractors to carry out planned building maintenance works, minor works as well as building improvement works;
(b) prepare detailed technical specifications and working drawings for tenders;
(c) make recommendations on returned tenders;
(d) prioritise and issue works orders;
(e) liaise with different units and contractors for the implementation of planned works;
(f) supervise and monitor the progress and quality of work performed by contractors/service providers;
(g) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised diploma/higher certificate, preferably a recognised degree and/or in Building Surveying, Building Studies, Building Technology or a related engineering discipline;
(b) have at least three years of relevant experience in building maintenance/improvement works;
(c) have knowledge of statutory requirements of the Building (Minor Works) Regulation and health and safety on construction sites;
(d) be familiar with Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD;
(e) have good communication and interpersonal skills; and
(f) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Preference will be given to those who have experience in tiling repairs and leakage repairs to building fabrics.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
