Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing market, credit, and operational risks tied to trading portfolios, with a focus on high-end client accounts from mainland China.
  • Conduct risk assessments and stress testing to evaluate potential impacts on the company’s positions, particularly those tied to Chinese markets and virtual assets.
  • Support the development and implementation of risk management policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the needs of high-value Chinese clients.
  • Prepare regular risk reports for senior management and regulatory submissions in compliance with SFC standards, incorporating insights relevant to mainland China’s financial landscape.
  • Collaborate with trading, compliance, and finance teams to ensure alignment on risk mitigation strategies for Chinese high-end client portfolios.
  • Track market trends, volatility, and macroeconomic factors in Hong Kong and mainland China to anticipate potential risks.
  • Ensure adherence to Hong Kong securities regulations, internal risk thresholds, and relevant Chinese regulatory considerations.
  • Participate in audits and respond to inquiries from regulators and external stakeholders, including those related to cross-border operations with China

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in risk management, preferably within securities trading or financial services, with exposure to high-end Chinese client accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of Hong Kong and mainland China financial markets, securities regulations, and risk frameworks.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools and methodologies, including those applicable to virtual asset management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and trading/risk platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, especially in managing complex portfolios for Chinese clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and high-end clients from mainland China.
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, with a deep understanding of Chinese business culture and client expectations.
  • Proven experience in handling accounts for high-end clients, particularly from mainland China.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtual asset management, including cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based financial products, in addition to traditional securities.
