Finance & Shipping Officer

We are assisting our client, a leading commodity trading company, in hiring a Finance & Shipping Officer for their team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the complete set of import/export shipping documents, ensuring precision and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and authenticate documents such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, packing lists, and customs declarations.
• Negotiate with banks for Letters of Credit (L/C) and handle various banking documents related to shipments.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions linked to shipping activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., logistics, procurement, sales) and external parties (e.g., freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers) to facilitate smooth shipment arrangements.
• Serve as the main point of contact for shipping-related inquiries and issues.
• Monitor shipment schedules and promptly address any delays or discrepancies.
• Ensure all shipping activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records and generate necessary reports.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing the full set of import/export shipping documents.
• Familiarity with Letters of Credit (L/C) and banking documentation processes.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with banks, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin).
