We are assisting our client, a leading commodity trading company, in hiring a Finance & Shipping Officer for their team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the complete set of import/export shipping documents, ensuring precision and regulatory compliance.
Prepare and authenticate documents such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, packing lists, and customs declarations.
Negotiate with banks for Letters of Credit (L/C) and handle various banking documents related to shipments.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions linked to shipping activities.
Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., logistics, procurement, sales) and external parties (e.g., freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers) to facilitate smooth shipment arrangements.
Serve as the main point of contact for shipping-related inquiries and issues.
Monitor shipment schedules and promptly address any delays or discrepancies.
Ensure all shipping activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records and generate necessary reports.
Requirements:
Proven experience in managing the full set of import/export shipping documents.
Familiarity with Letters of Credit (L/C) and banking documentation processes.
Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with banks, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin).
