Role Overview

We are seeking a Legal and Licensing Manager to lead our licensing applications and legal operations. This role is critical in ensuring that Wello secures and maintains regulatory licenses across various jurisdictions while providing legal support for our business activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with external law firms, internal stakeholders, and regulators to navigate the evolving financial and crypto regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities

License Applications & Maintenance

• Lead and manage regulatory license applications across different regions.
• Prepare, review, and submit licensing materials in collaboration with external legal advisors.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with existing licenses and regulatory requirements.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

• Work closely with external law firms to interpret and implement applicable financial and crypto regulations.
• Provide legal support on company structure and operational setup to align with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and advise on regulatory developments impacting Wello’s business.

Contract & Legal Documentation

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, including partnerships, vendor contracts, and compliance-related documentation.
• Ensure legal documents are aligned with Wello’s business needs and risk management strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with internal teams (product, compliance, finance, etc.) to ensure legal and licensing requirements are integrated into business strategies.
• Support the compliance team in implementing AML, KYC, and other regulatory policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of experience in legal, regulatory compliance, or licensing, preferably in fintech, payments, or crypto-related industries.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, licensing processes, and compliance frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience working with regulators and managing licensing applications.
• Ability to draft and negotiate legal agreements with attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with external legal counsel and internal teams.
• Legal qualification or relevant degree in Law is preferred.
