The Client Accounting Specialist is an integral member of our team, responsible for all aspects of client account billing support. This role involves collaborating closely with Client Account Managers and Client Account Supervisors to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
Position Responsibilities
Manage all billing functions for designated billing attorneys, including distribution, logging, preparation, processing, and mailing of client bills.
Provide prompt and accurate assistance in resolving billing issues for attorneys, clients, and staff through detailed billing analysis and adjustments.
Offer guidance and training to new billing attorneys as needed.
Implement and maintain the client and matter database to ensure up-to-date information.
Conduct research on inquiries related to past and present billing scenarios.
Enter Financial Arrangements into the accounting system accurately.
Submit electronically billed invoices in a timely manner.
Organize and prepare past month’s billing for electronic scanning.
Review and summarize engagement letters related to special financial agreements.
Implement and maintain special fee and cost rate structures.
Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Skills and Experience
Required:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, and other firm applications.
Strong Excel skills.
Prior experience with full cycle billing associated with attorney assignments.
General knowledge of accounting concepts.
Fluency in English and Mandarin, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Preferred:
2+ years of relevant experience (e.g., billing principles, accounting, billing rates, and client maintenance procedures).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Prior experience in a law firm setting.
Familiarity with 3E and electronic billing systems.
Proficient in 10-key by touch.
