Job Description:
This role is accountable for delivering value through new innovations such as Gen AI and emerging tech products for advisors and clients to achieve planned outcomes aligned with value stream objectives and Innovation OKRs.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive product vision, roadmap, and outcomes by leading a team and work closely with Value Stream Owner to ensure the mandate of the product and product OKRs are met
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs, ensure innovative solution ideas and products envisioned align within business and technology strategy and requirements
- Tracks and shares insights from industry trends and market competition – esp. in areas such as Gen AI, emerging digital technologies
- Create and maintain innovation roadmap as a guide and a reference for execution in realizing value
- Prioritize features for delivery based on value and contribution to OKRs and value stream objectives
- Recommend trade-off decisions for feature/capability inclusion and exclusions in products and releases for Value Stream Owner
- Oversee and manage product development, lead squads and teams to successfully deliver against the product vision
- Be accountable for product specific OKRs and communicate delivery progress to stakeholders
- Creates roadmap of prioritized future capabilities / features as part of product roadmap
- Own product backlog items and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
- Own the user stories and acceptance criteria for the product
- Facilitate release planning with stakeholders as well as weekly demos
- Assess product value delivered in each increment with value metrics
Job Requirements
- University Graduate and above.
- At least 15 years of experience in Insurance Industry or Financial Institutions, candidates who have led teams as Business, Functional and Digital SMEs are preferred
- Experimental mindset to drive innovation and continuous improvement of team
- Deep experience in client digital journey and/or advisor digital journey would be required
- Ability to balance client and advisor needs with business constraints in a complex environment
- Strong experience in Product Development, Management and Lifecycle
- Sound knowledge of insurance products, channels, client/advisor behaviors and technology
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, large strategic/ complex programs in a position of authority is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills for large, complex and broad business issues
- Experienced in Agile ways of working (e.g., quick iterations with done better than perfect
- Experience in DevOps and Agile Toolset (JIRA, Confluence)
- Ability to resolve ambiguity in conflicting needs from multiple stakeholders while working within the constraints of a complex technical and operational environment
- Critical thinker and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – loves and embraces change
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and inter-personnel skills
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with stakeholders
- Fluent in and English and Cantonese
- Certification as Agile Product Owner
