Summer internship period at FWD Group Office Hong Kong is from June 09 to August 15, 2025


What you will do:

  • Undergo a 11-week summer programme designed to provide you with an exciting, fun and supportive learning experience and responsibilities which mirror work life at FWD.
  • Develop a good foundation on FWD products and services. You will collaborate across different business functions to execute your assigned tasks and projects.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and solutions to perform tasks and improve existing processes.


What you’ll need:

  • Preferably 3rd year or final year students, and must be available for a full-time internship from June to August 2025
  • Passion for digital initiatives and process enhancement through technology enablement
  • Ability to work in an agile and fast-paced environment
  • A high personal drive to achieve results, proactive, and good at execution of assigned tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Fluency in both written and verbal communication
  • Ability to quickly solve problems on your own or with a team
  • Ability to articulate ideas/strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing


The following departments will be accepting interns this year -

  • Group Risk - Risk Management is responsible for facilitating functional units in managing their business risks and coordinating risk management activities across the Group. We work collaboratively with other functions to identify challenges, provide support, and to escalate matters when necessary. Our goal is to help optimise the trade-off between risk and reward.When managing risk it is important that everyone speaks a common language, from directors, officers, employees, agents to contractors. Our team has developed an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework which links the strategic objectives of the FWD Group with our view and appetite for risk, along with reliable governance practices that support a mindful risk culture at every level.
  • Group Digital - FWD maintains a strong focus on digital and data to help deliver innovative propositions, services and experiences to our customers. The team has the following pillars : (1) Data & Analytics - Data Engineering, Data Science and AI Algorithms, Data products and partnerships; (2) Generative AI Commercialisation & Platform; (3) Digital Delivery, and (4) Future Office – with each team supported by the Digital Strategy & Governance team
  • Group Technology - Application Delivery - the Technology Solutions Delivery team, works closely with the Digital Platforms team to carry out various digital solutions for our internal business and external partner. While the Digital Platforms team covers our digital platforms' UX (user experience) and UI (user interface) design, the Technology Solutions Delivery team brings it to life by supporting the coding and delivering aspects
  • Group Distribution - our aim is to ensure we have the right mix of sales channels to give our customers the best-in-class purchase journey and to grow our business in the right way. The team aims to empower FWDs distributors with innovative digital and product propositions and provide holistic support across the distribution journey from prospecting, sales activation and customer servicing.
  • Group Investor Relations - as FWD continues to expand, the Group investor relations team oversees our strategic relationships with our external stakeholders including shareholders, analysts, and the wider investment community.
  • Group Investment - the team manages our investment assets across the firm, from government and corporate bonds, to direct property, listed equities, private equity and derivatives.​
  • Group Finance - our team is the steward of Group’s financial statements and management information. We provide key financial reports and analysis to shareholders, management, regulators, rating agencies, financial institutions and wider community of external stakeholders. Our team comprises the following functions: Controllers, FP&A, Tax, Accounting policy and Finance operations.
  • Group Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) - our Group ESG strategy represents our journey to understand and prioritise the ESG issues that are most important to those impacted by our decisions. This is key to fulfilling our vision of changing the way people feel about insurance. At FWD, we aspire to create a better and more sustainable future.
  • Group Strategy - the team drives the development and implementation of the overall Corporate Strategy to realise FWD's vision and growth ambitions. We generate insights into the current performance of the businesses, as well as competitive dynamics, and drive the business planning process in partnership with various Group functions and stakeholders. We also work closely with country leadership and local strategy representatives to establish and review strategic priorities, create actionable goals and targets, and support strategy execution.
  • Group Customer - team is responsibility for Customer Experience Management, Operations Management including Underwriting & Claims, delivery of Next Gen solutions for operations and performance management of our strategic objectives and Polaris KPIs. Importantly, Customer Operations is responsible for the implementation of Opus (Operation Platform for us) to deliver a consistent approach across all customer journeys and channels of engagement.
  • Group Brand and Marketing - we are the Brand Champions at FWD. With passion and creativity, we shape and grow our brand, making sure it stands out and stays true to our vision of changing the way people feel about insurance. We drive our brand with customer-led strategies, create engaging content and launch impactful platforms like "Time to Play" that empower our customers. Our team ensures everything we do is consistent and efficient, keeping FWD bold and distinctive. We also continuously measure and analyze our brand performance to drive improvement and innovation
  • OMNE - the team is dedicated to revolutionising customers’ insurance experience with innovative self-service features such as instant claims, on demand policy and 24/7 accessibility. Customers could also stay fit through a range of activities such as health tracking, fitness exercises and various fun games. The team ensures that the platform aligns with FWD's broader goals of enhancing customer insurance journey through innovation, active engagement, and operational efficiency. Maintaining the platform’s success and expanding its capabilities are key to meeting the evolving needs of FWD and its customers.
