The Underwriting Service Executive is responsible for providing administrative support and operational assistance to underwriters and Senior Executives. The role contributes to the smooth functioning of the underwriting process and overall service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting Services
- Provide high-quality administrative support to underwriters in the insurance and reinsurance business.
- Assist in the management of accounts and policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
Regional Accounts Servicing
- Support the execution of Regional Accounts within Asia by following established procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage issuance and servicing processes, updating systems as required.
- Collaborate with other Asian offices to facilitate reinsurance business operations.
Broker and business development support
- Assist in providing support to brokers, including issuing certificates, invoicing, and offering policy status information.
- Participate in business development activities, such as conducting market research and gathering market information.
Data gathering and quality
- Ensure accurate and timely setup and updates of account information in the system from various sources.
- Assist in data gathering and preparation of standard documents, including slips, cover notes, and debit notes.
- Verify data quality and consistency.
Service performance and client/broker satisfaction
- Support account servicing, including communication with brokers and clients, while adhering to SLAs and service performance objectives.
- Help monitor service levels and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve client and broker satisfaction.
- Escalate issues and exceptions to senior team members to address potential challenges promptly.
Support portfolio analysis and reporting
- Assist in portfolio analysis and contribute to quarterly/annual reporting and portfolio management activities.
- Prepare relevant analysis and statistics to aid in underwriting reviews under supervision.
Relationship management
- Developing and strengthening relationships with business partners to achieve growth and retention targets
- Liaising with brokers, clients, cedants and reinsurers in respect of any technical and administrative aspects
Operational excellence
- Providing highest level of professional, efficient and consistent service to our clients, brokers and underwriters
- Supporting continuous enhancement of processes & procedures
- Sharing best practice, coaching and developing junior staff
Compliance
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
- Ensuring adherence to Group regulations, guidelines and rules
- Reporting any compliance or risk management concerns
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or College Diploma holder or holder of professional qualification in Insurance
- At least 2-5 years of relevant experience in general insurance
- Experience in underwriting process or underwriting services
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills
- Detail minded with strong analytical skill
- Work independently and a team player
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
