Major Duties And Responsibilities

The appointee will assist in a research project focused on the acoustic analysis of tone in the Hmong language (Project code: R6676).

The Appointee Will Be Responsible Mainly For The Following

  • Assisting and supporting the principal investigator in implementing all aspects related to the research project;
  • Assisting in collecting and compiling fundamental research data;
  • Conducting linguistic experiments as well as data entry and analysis;
  • Providing a wide range of administrative support to the project; and
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned by project investigator.

Candidates

Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications, Experience And Competence

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree or higher in a linguistic discipline;
  • Preferably with a higher degree and familiarity with acoustic data analysis;
  • A strong sense of responsibility and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in various computer applications such as MS Office, Word, Excel, Praat and R;
  • Outstanding written and spoken English and Chinese language abilities; and
  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant research or project administration experience.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary/ part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
