We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Nursing and Health Studies:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will mainly assist with projects under the HKMU Exergaming Research Centre. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Assisting in project implementation, including participant recruitment, coordinating follow-ups with participants, etc;
  • Managing the processing and storage of blood, urine and other human samples;
  • Conducting sample testing and basic laboratory experiments;
  • Performing various laboratory tasks, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and quality assurance, etc.;
  • Processing raw data for statistical analysis;
  • Drafting reports and presentations; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, data science, or a health-related discipline, plus at least one year of relevant experience in health-related research project(s) (for Research Assistant I);
  • A Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, data science, or a health-related discipline (for Research Assistant II);
  • A strong sense of responsibility;
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Proficiency in multi-tasking and time management;
  • A good command of written English and good communication skills;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a valid practising certificate from the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologists Board; and
  • Solid working experience in blood/stool sample processing, and relevant working experience in a clinical laboratory would be an advantage.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary will be offered to the right candidates. Generous annual leave, staff-development sponsorships, medical and dental benefits, and life insurance coverage will also be provided. The contract will be initially for 12 months with the possibility of renewal.
