Position Overview

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement processes and supply chain management to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the purchasing function within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Monitor market trends and conduct supplier evaluations to identify new sourcing opportunities and improve quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and finance, to forecast material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze purchasing data and prepare reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  • Lead and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement management, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in supplier management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin are required.
