Role

Kennedys is looking for an Associate to join our Liability Defence team in Hong Kong. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, dynamic and global law firm.

Team

The Kennedys office in Hong Kong was established in 2000 and has now grown to 8 partners and over 30 lawyers, many of whom are multi-lingual. As one of the leading international firms in Hong Kong, our core practice areas include insurance and reinsurance, corporate insurance, corporate and commercial, litigation and dispute resolution, financial services and corporate regulatory and compliance, information technology, cyber and data privacy, healthcare including medical negligence, and casualty.

Kennedys dedicated Liability Defence Team is consistently recognised as amongst the best in Hong Kong. We handle a wide range of casualty claims from minor slip and fall accidents to complex catastrophic accidents, as well property damage. Our clients include some of the largest insurers in the world and major employers in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defending personal injury and liability claims including employees' compensation, public liability, motor and property damage.
  • Advising insurers on policy coverage and insurance related issues.
  • Handling complex cases involving catastrophic injuries, causation issues and novel duty of care arguments.

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years' post-qualification experience in Hong Kong.
  • Must be a Hong Kong qualified solicitor with a strong background in defending injury and other casualty claims as well as insurance related work.
  • Experienced in procedural rules and insurance matters and have the ability to manage fast-moving complex cases.
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at working both independently and within a team in a high paced environment.
