Portfolio Finance Trader

We are looking to recruit a candidate to work as a member of the Portfolio Finance team in Hong Kong. The candidate should be analytical, highly motivated, hardworking and energetic. They must possess the communication skills to maintain and develop relationships internally within the fund and externally with the financing counterparties. They must be adaptable to market conditions, whilst being able to be consistent in their approach to the daily role.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Portfolio Managers trading Asian Equities, proactively keeping them updated on borrow availability, financing levels and market structure developments on a daily basis
• Help educate new and existing PM’s on Equity Finance and Securities Lending in Asia
• Work with the Prime Brokers and Lenders in Asia to build on strong relationships and maximize efficiency of securities lending and other financing products
• Work very closely with the US and European Equity Finance desks to assist maintaining a consistent global approach internally and externally

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• At a minimum, obtained Investment management certificate or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Investment Banking or buy side Investment Management
• Must have Prime Brokerage and Delta One knowledge and technical knowledge of Asian markets including China
• Knowledge of Stock loan Markets in Asia and basic knowledge of Corporate Actions
• Good understanding of Securities Lending, Equity Swaps and associated trading activities. In addition a working knowledge of Regulatory developments would be useful
• Excel, Bloomberg, Reuters, Powerpoint and VBA working knowledge essential
• Analytical and quantitative skills and very good attention to detail
• Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work with excellent time planning and organization skills
• Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment
• High sense of urgency
• Outgoing and friendly personality, strong and professional communication skills
• Quick learner, Detail oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work
