CLAP-TECH CENTRE 

The CLAP-TECH Centre (CTC) has been pioneering the first vocational-oriented school-to-work learning pathway in Hong Kong that bridges from mainstream secondary school education to tertiary education, with multiple entry and exit points. The new pathway provides authentic learning opportunities and meaningful employer encounters including career mentorship, workplace learning, industry exposure, and internships that complement the existing mainstream education system. As a pilot, the new pathway is built upon a tripartite partnership of secondary schools, the Hong Kong Baptist University, and industry partners to foster talent development in ICT as the first track and in creative media as the second track.

The appointee will report to the Project Manager of the Centre, and work closely with CTC staff to perform a wide spectrum of administrative and data analytics tasks. 

Assistant Executive Officer (24250117)

Responsibilities: 

  • Program Evaluation & Data Management: Support program evaluation, including data collection, cleaning, maintenance, analysis, report writing, and scheduling qualitative surveys (interviews and focus groups);
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Project Team, managing procurement, facility bookings, and coordinating IT support with the University’s central offices; and
  • Student Activities Support: Occasionally organise activities such as company visits with industry partners and secondary schools.

Requirements:

  • A degree in background in educational research, social science, public health, statistics, or a related field preferably with at least 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Chinese, and English word processing, withExcel proficiency in data management and analysis;
  • Experience in inferential statistical analysis would be an advantage but not a must, e.g. SPSS, R, Nvivo or similar software, and in data analysis (e.g. regression, general linear modelling, correlation, and data visualisation);
  • Experience in administration and student activity coordination would be an advantage;
  • Excellent written English and fluency in Chinese (Cantonese is a must);
  • Self-motivated, attentive to details, a strong sense of responsibility, and able to work independently;
  • The role will be working with a number of both internal and external parties, good people management and communication skills would be beneficial; and
  • Occasional Extended Work Hours: Work beyond normal office hours or weekends as needed (Compensatory time-offs apply).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a proficiency test.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of up to 18 months commencing on a mutually agreed date.Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
