Senior Design Engineer - System Integration (Ref: 2500007V)
Act as a Lead Designer in the modification and integration of various Communications and Radio systems to delivery system interface design documents including Particular Specification, Customer Requirement Brief, etc, and support the advance works of new line extension projects to ensure the inter-operability of these systems across the railway network
Manage multi-disciplinary system design such as Radio system, Passenger Information Display Systems, Public Address, Data Platform and Networking, Telephone and IoT applications and coordination by ensuring that the scope of interfacing work and roles and responsibilities are well defined and taking an active role in resolving cross-discipline interfacing issues
Conduct feasibility studies, tests & trials, and investigations to validate engineering proposals, innovative technologies, and alternative sourcing proposals, as well as formulate comprehensive execution plans including all preparation work and modification details to ensure the prevailing safety and reliability asset performance are delivered
Take up Communications and Radio system modifications in the operating railway arising from station improvement and station commercial opportunities
Take up offshore assignment from time to time to support the growth business and innovation projects of the Corporation as required
Requirements
Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Science or a related discipline
A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in Communication systems, of which 5 years should be related to railway equipment
Relevant experience in system engineering, system integration, interface management, contractor management
Possession of Corporate Membership of a professional institution is preferred
Self-motivated with good communication, analytical & problem-solving skills
Willingness to work in non-traffic hours to cope with extensive site survey and test & commissioning
Experience in designing and implementing innovative technologies is an advantage
