Job Purpose:

A Senior Scientist responsible for leading and managing R&D projects. This role requires outstanding research skills and expertise in molecular biology and molecular diagnostics, the ability to manage a team of scientists, and effective communication and collaboration with external partners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and lead molecular diagnostics-related research projects from conception to implementation, including defining research objectives, designing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting and reporting results

Manage a team of scientists, providing guidance and helping to foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing culture in the research department to efficiently meet deadlines

Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders, including academic and industry partners, to identify and pursue opportunities for research collaboration and funding

Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards for research, including obtaining necessary approvals and ensuring the responsible conduct of research by all team members

Communicate research results through publications, presentations, and other means, to both internal and external audiences, and contribute to company advancement through participation in professional organizations and events

Requirements:

PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field of science

Minimum of 10 years of experience in scientific research, with a demonstrated track record of leading and managing research projects

Proven expertise in molecular diagnostics, as evidenced by publications, patents, and/or other accomplishments

Effective leadership and management skills, with experience managing teams of scientists in a research environment

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with external partners and stakeholders

Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to design and execute complex experiments and data analysis

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
