Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Implement R&D projects and consultancy services focused on the development of green materials, with a particular emphasis on degradable materials.
  • Support the application of new R&D projects by conducting preliminary experiments and assisting in proposal drafting.
  • Conduct materials testing (primarily polymer-related), biodegradation tests, and materials composition identification using instruments such as FTIR, SEM/EDX, TGA/DSC, HT-GPC, and TOC analysers.
  • Lead a team of technicians to provide testing services based on business needs.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks based on business needs.

 

You'll Be a Good Fit If You Have/Are:

  • A bachelor degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of working experience in related fields, including at least 2 years in local R&D centres, institutions, or equivalent roles.
  • Strong knowledge of biodegradable materials and related analytical methods, such as FTIR, SEM/EDX, TGA/DSC, HT-GPC, and TOC analysers
  • Familiarity with local R&D project funding schemes

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
