INSTITUTE OF TRANSDISCIPLINARY STUDIES
The Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes (DTUP) was established under the Institute of Transdisciplinary Studies (ITS) to support the development of transdisciplinary undergraduate education at Hong Kong Baptist University. The DTUP coordinates with faculties and schools within HKBU and collaborates with local and overseas partners to offer transdisciplinary courses as well as a unique transdisciplinary programme, the Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Technology (Hons) in Individualised Major.
Lecturer I/II (24250124)
The appointee is expected to: (a) perform teaching duties for courses offered by the Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes (DTUP), (b) involve in transdisciplinary pedagogical design to create innovative and SDG-related experiential learning experiences, (c) liaise with faculty members across disciplines to support student-supervisor matching, (d) support transdisciplinary students' participation in conferences and competitions, (e) Support outreach to secondary schools and (f) assist in the administration of the division, such as admission talks and interviews. Occasional travel may be required.
Applicants should possess a PhD degree and experience in adopting transdisciplinary approaches in tertiary institutions. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is required, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong sense of teamwork. Knowledge of IT and/or research tools is a bonus. Preference will be given to applicants who have established connections with local secondary schools, industries, and community partners.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years, commencing September 2025 or the earliest available date. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
