Teaching at The Harbour School requires teachers to put student learning first, demonstrating excellence in subject-area matter and progressive teaching pedagogy. Teachers are expected to regularly reflect and research up-to-date teaching strategies for continuous improvement, for their own, and students’ benefit.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work and communicate collaboratively within a team, assist with the holistic development of students and the school, and be open and willing to undertake duties in addition to their teaching duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Holder of ESL or TESOL certification and experience.
• Bachelor Degree in the relevant subject with PGCE or equivalent is preferred.
• Relevant teaching experience.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English (native speaker level).
• Excellent knowledge of subject content and pedagogy along with an understanding of internationally recognised good practise in EAL teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of and experience in using diverse assessments and applying differentiated learning strategies (for both learning support and learning extension students).
• Comprehensive technology skill-set. 
• Strong organisation and time management skills. 
• Sees themselves as a learner, with a positive and solutions-oriented outlook.
• Enthusiastic and creative, excited to design learning experiences that go beyond the traditional classroom.
• Experience of working with parents and families from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
• Conversational or better Mandarin preferred. 

Preferred

• Previous experience or familiarity with American education system 
• Previous experience with Google suite
