Associate – Business & Investment (Life Sciences)


Location: This is an on-site position based in Shanghai.

With deep industry knowledge and a robust international network, we enable our clients to successfully navigate complex global partnerships and achieve their strategic objectives in the life sciences industry.


We are seeking an Associate – Business & Investment (Life Sciences) to support our deal sourcing and investment analysis efforts. This role will primarily focus on engaging clients in China , facilitating licensing and investment transactions, with the opportunity to expand focus to a broader global client base over time.


Role Description


This is a Shanghai-based position suited for an experienced professional with expertise in financial modeling, valuation, licensing, and deal sourcing in the life sciences sector. The Associate will be responsible for:


  • Financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence on biopharma assets, supporting licensing, M&A, and investment decisions.
  • Market research and competitive analysis to assess the commercial viability of drug development programs and technology platforms.
  • Identifying, sourcing, and engaging potential partners in China and internationally, supporting licensing and co-development opportunities.
  • Supporting capital raising and financing initiatives for life sciences companies.
  • Collaborating with senior advisors and clients to develop strategic partnerships and business opportunities.
  • Representing Vision Lifesciences in client meetings, industry events, and negotiations.


Qualifications


  • 2+ years of experience in deal sourcing, investment analysis, licensing, or M&A advisory within biopharma, healthcare investment banking, venture capital, or strategy consulting.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and due diligence.
  • Experience in assessing drug licensing opportunities, M&A transactions, and investment partnerships.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess the commercial potential of life sciences assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a global team.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and a good command of English is required.
