Financial Analyst Needed for Asian Digital Content / Social Media Company

We are seeking a mature, motivated, junior financial analyst with excellent communication skills. The candidate will report directly to the co-founder / COO who is a Columbia MBA, veteran investment banker and hedge fund investment professional from New York. Will get excellent hands-on experience at the top level in running a fast-growing, venture-backed media startup with offices in Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Manila.

The ideal candidate has studied and/or worked in accounting and is proficient in spreadsheet modeling.

Candidate will own the corporate model which drives all decisions, including financial projections, budgeting, hiring, banking, valuation and high-level strategic analysis. It is a complex financial model that consolidates across offices and currencies. Candidate will work closely with the accounting team to sync the projections with the bank accounts and P&L of the Company’s five subsidiaries regions as well as the parent entity. Candidate will access the company’s business data systems (YouTube and other) to collect financial results and incorporate them into the model.

Candidate will work closely with colleagues in the other offices to help track, measure and analyze key performance indicators for each region.

• Own, manage and maintain the corporate financial projection model
• P&L and budgeting for each office and variance analysis on a monthly basis
• Maintain communications with senior management in each office
• Tie the corporate model to the bookkeeping / accounting system
• Perform data analysis on key performance indicators by office and by employee
• Fluent in English
• Open, positive, can-do attitude
• Degree from four-year university
• 2-3 years of work experience using similar skill set
• Excellent spreadsheet modeling skills
• Strong knowledge and/or coursework in accounting and finance
• Very mature, self-starter, highly motivated personality
• Proficiency in an Asian language a plus
• Knowledge of SQL or experience in data analysis a plus

Job Type: Contract, Part-time

Time Zone: +/-2 hour from Japan Standard Time

Offer: Hourly USD 10-20 depending on experience

Expected hours: 2 – 10 per week
