Content Analyst

Platform Solutions delivers a suite of resources to our investment professionals, including data, research, and corporate access. The Content Solutions team within Platform Solutions manages alternative data and independent research and is looking to add a dynamic and motivated Content Analyst.

As a Content Analyst, you will research, discover, and vet products from data providers and independent research firms and formulate a view on their potential value to our investment professionals. You will be the firm’s subject matter expert on content for a particular investment strategy and advise investment professionals, business managers, and colleagues on the space. You will develop 1x1 relationships with our investment professionals in order to understand their unique strategy and recommend the highest potential products for their evaluation and use. You will develop strategic relationships with content providers and negotiate for best-in-class pricing and access on behalf of the firm. You will collaborate with our data scientists, technologists, and other internal counterparts to deliver high-value content to our investment professionals. You will help to drive the constant evolution of Platform Solutions as the firm grows and contribute innovative ideas on delivering resources to our investment professionals at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the firm’s expert on alternative data, independent research, and investment tools relevant to the strategy you cover, with deep knowledge of the providers, products, and industry trends
  • Perform research on content relevant to your strategy in order to stay well-informed of changes to known products and discover new products not already in use at the firm
  • Build and maintain a detailed profile on each product with all relevant metadata, including sources, methodology, and use cases
  • Develop a view on and document the strengths, weaknesses, and potential value of each product to the investment process, including how it compares to other available content
  • Author and publish proprietary commentary on content under your coverage to our investment professionals in order to inform and educate them on the landscape and recommend high-value products
  • Build 1x1 relationships with investment professionals within the strategy you cover and understand their unique investment process and use of content
  • Advise investment professionals within the strategy you cover on available content that suits their strategy and perform bespoke research on their behalf as needed
  • Onboard new investment professionals to the platform and market the platform to prospective IPs
  • Generate access to new content for our investment professionals and establish strategic relationships with new content providers
  • Negotiate commercial and business terms with new content providers to achieve the best pricing and position for scale
  • Collaborate with other Content Analysts and key internal partners, including business management, data science and engineering, legal, compliance, and operations
  • Manage high volumes of work across a diverse set of functions and on behalf of various investment professionals with competing priorities, effectively communicate expectations with internal and external counterparts, and execute quickly and efficiently
  • Leverage and contribute to the development of internal technology in order to improve workflows and ultimately the investment professionals’ experience

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • 4-6 years of professional experience in finance, data, and/or research
  • Familiarity with systematic and discretionary investment processes and the application of data
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Intellectually curious and creative, seeking constant challenge and improvement
  • Resourceful and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to manage high volumes of work
  • Ability to handle pressure and energized by high performance standards
  • Experience with equities and equity investment strategies preferred
