Role Description
The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Axial Partners’ wealth management platform serves as the strategic leader responsible for investment decisions, portfolio management, and overall investment strategy. This role caters exclusively to professional investors seeking specialised investment solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Investment Strategy and Execution:
- Select and implement investment strategies that maximize returns and minimize costs and risks.
- Oversee portfolio management process and make informed decisions on investments.
- Monitor market trends and conditions to identify opportunities for new investment strategies.
2. Strategy Provider Selection and Due Diligence:
- Conduct rigorous due diligence on investment strategy providers and investment vehicles.
- Recommend investment opportunities based on thorough analysis.
3. Risk Management:
- Define risk parameters and establish risk management protocols.
- Monitor portfolio risk exposure and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement risk controls and mitigation strategies.
4. Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal Sales and Relationship Managers to understand client needs and tailor investment solutions.
- Provide expert guidance to professional investors, addressing complex inquiries.
- Cultivate long-term client relationships.
5. Thought Leadership and Research:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging investment themes.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, or related field. CFA/CAIA/FRM preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in investment management, preferably serving institutional or high-net-worth clients.
- Strong track record of successful portfolio management and investment decision-making.
- CFA, CAIA, or similar designations preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts to professional investors.
