The Department

The Customer Strategy, Insights, and Innovation (CSII) Division is dedicated to cultivating customer-centric capabilities across the Club ecosystem and shaping customer strategies that drive business growth. Through a data-driven approach, the Division strives to achieve a 360-degree understanding and insights of owners, members and wagering customers, enabling the seamless design of end-to-end customer experiences across online and offline channels (Racecourses and Off-course Betting Branches). This is achieved by integrating Clubwide customer data onto a unified platform, creating a single view of our customers that empowers us to deliver personalised offers and unique experiences.

The Job

You will:

  1. Budget, Financial Report and Analytics:
  • Conduct budgeting for Retail and Telebet Services Department, and develops the right business rules as guiding principles in development of departmental budget. Supports management to ensure the departmental headcount and opex budget are well within the allocated budgets.
  • Allocate by teams / districts / branches budgets based on Corporate defined targets / budget. Works with management in setting rational and business-driven business rules and assumptions and holds such rules in the management of the budget.
  • Conduct analysis on financial performance on turnover, productivity, profitability, opex, capex, to ensure budget is met, savings targets are achieved, and any shortfalls / adverse trends to be spotted promptly and alert to be provided on regular basis.
  • Generate financial insights and prepares reports to alert appropriate parties and presents such in regular Management Meeting.
  • Develop financial / productivity / spending benchmarks, both internal and external for comparison to ensure spending / productivity / growth are all in the right trending and opportunities could be defined.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting is consolidated and aligned with Retail Management team; has full understanding and be able to execute the Club's corporate financial standards in terms of reporting and forecasting requirements.
  • Works closely with Finance department, and different Retail and Telebet stakeholders to ensure corporate financial requirements are met, and also all financial reports are complied with corporate standards. Be able to provide constructive guidance and recommendations to management and also all financial reports complied with corporate standards.
  1. KPI Reporting and Commercial Management:
  • Manage KPI and scorecard compilation for Districts and Branches (including BPMS administration). Conducts briefings to ensure good and effective communications with different stakeholders and front-line teams for their understanding of the business rules and guiding principles in the setting of the KPIs / budget.
  • Develop easy to read and meaningful KPI reporting templates and charts to show business analysis and collaborates with Retail Managers for inputs in elaborating the results
  • Performance Dashboard Management - leads the migration and designs of the new reporting format on the Club's designated platform. Conducts regular reviews with stakeholders to improve the visual and design of the dashboards and reports to suit stakeholders' needs.
  • Facilitates all stakeholders to understand and uses the performance dashboard effectively; conducts training and briefing.
  1. Projects and Business Case Support:
  • Support major projects / renovations on financial calculation to support business case write up, ensures appropriate business assumptions be developed with the stakeholders.
  • Evaluate whether corporate committed targets are achieved. 
  • Support different teams in their program / project budgeting to ensure money well spent and returns are achieved.

About You

You should have:

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
  • A minimum of  8 years’ experience in financial reporting and analysis role in a medium to large sized organization.
  • Experience working in organisations with diverse operations or dealing with multiple stakeholders is a plus.
  • Solid business acumen with strong analytical ability.
  • Strong analytical and inter-personal skills to deal with different stakeholders.
  • Good Prior experience in SQL/ other database querying tools and data mining experience is a plus.
  • Computer literacy in using Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Word. Extensive experience with Excel/VBA is a must.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
