Your new company
Our client is a statutory body in Hong Kong responsible for the registration and regulations. It sets professional standards, conducts examinations and provides training and development for its members. They also play a key role in promoting their profession and ensuring that its members adhere to high ethical and professional standards. They are now looking for a sustainability director to comply with relevant regulations and deliver sustainability performance.
Your new role
Develop Sustainability Strategy: Create and monitor the Institute's sustainability strategy to keep up with global and local trends.
Oversee Sustainability Activities: Stay updated on all sustainability efforts, including standards, training, advocacy, and reporting. Ensure these align with strategic goals.
Lead Capacity Building: Drive the Institute's sustainability education and support for members and stakeholders.
Collaborate with Agencies: Work with local and international bodies to build a comprehensive sustainability framework for Hong Kong.
Communicate Strategy: Report and communicate the sustainability strategy to members and stakeholders.
Advocacy and Leadership: Develop programs to position the Institute as a leader in sustainability and educate members on key initiatives.
Manage Sustainability Committee: Oversee the committee's agenda and activities to support the Institute's sustainability efforts.
Represent Internationally: Participate in international groups and events to showcase the Institute's contributions and seek collaboration.
Build Local Network: Develop relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the sustainability ecosystem in Hong Kong.
What you'll need to succeed
Professional Qualification: Accounting qualification with 12-15 years of experience; candidates with less experience can be considered as Deputy Director
Sustainability Experience: At least 5 years in sustainability roles, with knowledge of local and international environments.
Strategic Thinker: Ability to drive strategic objectives.
Effective Communicator: Skilled at communicating with diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.
Self-Motivated: Confident in handling complex matters and reaching consensus.
Networking Skills: Strong relationship management and organisational skills.
Language Proficiency: Excellent in English and Chinese; Mandarin is a plus.
