Corporate Development Manager / BD Manager – Tech & Blockchain M&A

Location: Hong Kong

Compensation: Highly competitive base salary + equity incentives per deal

About the Role

Shields Group Search has been retained by a global private equity firm to identify a Corporate Development Director to lead local deal sourcing efforts in the technology, blockchain, and AI sectors. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned dealmaker with a strong network and deep expertise in identifying and securing high-tech acquisition targets .

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Origination & Sourcing: Identify and develop a pipeline of high-tech, blockchain, and AI acquisition opportunities in Hong Kong specifically
• Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of local market trends , emerging technologies, and competitive activity to identify promising investment targets.
• Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with founders, VC firms, investment bankers, and industry insiders to access proprietary deal flow.
• Screening & Evaluation: Conduct initial assessments, financial modeling, and strategic analysis of potential investment targets.
• Collaboration with Investment Team: Work closely with internal PE professionals to refine investment theses and present high-quality deal opportunities.
• Negotiation & Structuring: Support deal negotiations, due diligence, and structuring efforts to ensure successful transactions.
• Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance deal flow.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or corporate development with a focus on high-tech, blockchain, or crypto sectors.
• Proven track record of sourcing and closing technology-focused M&A deals in Hong Kong
• Deep understanding of emerging tech business models .
• Strong network of founders, VCs, and investment professionals in the technology ecosystem .
• Excellent financial, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Fluent in English; additional local language skills are a plus.
