Senior Database Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database systems for large-scale, mission-critical web applications.
• Perform data analysis, modeling, and database design.
• Optimize database performance through tuning, monitoring, and administration.
• Implement and support infrastructure solutions in sophisticated, high-performance trading environments that demand stability, high throughput and low latency;
• Provide support and implementation work to application teams including database setup, migration and database performance analysis;
• Provide advice for operating policies, technical architecture and configuration of database system;
• Create and maintain system documentation.
• Provide technical training to team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 12 years of IT experience , with at least 8 years in database design, administration, managing and supporting Oracle / IBM DB2 / PostgreSQL / GaussDB databases;
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle Database (19c or newer) , including Data Guard and Real Application Clusters (RAC) setup, configuration, performance tuning, and administration on Linux platforms.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for database querying and management.
• Deep understanding of database schema design, normalization, indexing, and the ability to create and manage data models and ER diagrams.
• Skilled in improving database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and issue troubleshooting using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager .
• Familiar with database security practices, such as user management, encryption, and access control.
• Advanced understanding of database architecture, including high availability, partitioning, load balancing, security, performance monitoring, backup/recovery, and optimization practices.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate or Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools related to continuous integration and deployment.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
