An enormous, stable and thriving asset management company is seeking a talented and goal oriented lawyer to join its in-house team in Hong Kong.

What you will do:

1) Serve as a Compliance Officer

• Provide relevant legal and regulatory compliance support to the Fund Manager in HK (SFC Type 4 & 9) and in Singapore which holds exemption from Monetary Authority of Singapore’s License requirements; and entities which are incorporated in various jurisdictions.

2) Identify legislative and regulatory developments affecting the fund manager, funds and transactions under management and ensure our fund managers are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

3) Work diligently to ensure that internal compliance process and framework are up to the mark and constantly updated, meeting in full both the spirits and rules laid down by SFC.

4) Provide legal and due diligence support on transactional matters in relation to fund structures and public and private market investments (funds, managed accounts, co-investments and direct investments)

5) Work directly with internal front office investment professionals for investment transactions, as well as with external counterparties (including external counsel, regulatory bodies and others)

6) Work with corporate secretarial team on all matters, including document review, account opening, onboarding and setup

7) Support with internal governance and ensure policies and SOPs are complied with

8) Provide other legal support on diverse matters as may be required (e.g., employment, general contract or dispute resolution)

What we are looking for:

• A good first degree from a reputable university
• Qualified lawyer from a common law jurisdiction (Hong Kong preferred)
• 6+ PQE in asset management/financial services law with reputable law firm and/or asset management company
• True fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin preferred) with effective verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous and detail-oriented to proactively identify risks, escalate critical concerns, and deliver pragmatic, business-aligned solutions that safeguard the Principal’s interests and minimize risks exposure
• Results-driven and team oriented with proven ability to deliver under compressed timeline, combining decisive execution‌, collaborative mindset‌, and resilience in high-pressure environments‌
• Prior experience in compliance role will be an absolute advantage
