A leading membership organisation focussed on the fund management industry is seeking a Sales Director to join their growing team. The Sales Director will be fully integrated into a fast paced and highly entrepreneurial environment, responsible for hunting and closing new asset management clients across Asia Pacific, while responsible for managing a portion of the region’s existing book of business. The role is based in Hong Kong, with a minimum of three days a week expected in our offices.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Represent the business by developing new relationships and maintaining legacy clients via cold calling, lead hunting, and proactive pipeline management to successfully sell our range of conference, membership and media products
Bring in new business
Exceed sales revenue objectives
Selling conference sponsorship, memberships, media and thought leadership opportunities across Asia Pacific and globally
Lead relationships with C-Suite executives of private and public market asset managers and other partners on behalf of the business
Develop and execute sales growth strategy across dedicated markets and asset classes to grow APAC business
Identify new prospects to develop healthy pipeline for each product
Rigorous pipeline development and tracking via SalesForce
Work with APAC team to design marketing materials, products and approaches that would improve sales productivity
Represent strong values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, and respect
Provide the highest level of client service, anticipating client needs and delivering above and beyond expectations through consultative solutions
Have knowledge of the competitive landscape
Willingness to travel frequently across the region to see clients and attend our events
Be the key interface with C-Suite asset management clients and prospects (representing public and private markets), global and regional sales teams, senior management, content directors and coordinators, marketing, media and investor relations teams.
The role requires:
Strong knowledge and understanding of institutional investing and the institutional asset management industry
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including dedicated transparency of activity via CRM tracking
Finger on the pulse of the fundraising activities of the biggest players in asset management across APAC
Self-motivated, creative, tenacious and resilient, will take initiative
Ability to overcome objections and obstacles
Outstanding communication skills verbal and written
Attention to detail
An investigative approach to accounts
Strong closer
Trusted advisor with excellent listening skills and a persuasive influencer
Comfortable using data based systems and industry resources such as Preqin

Collaborative team player
5+ years industry experience
Proven track record of growing a sales book and closing business
Experience in the financial services industry
Proven team player
Experience in conference B2B sales a plus
Knowledge and fluency in any of the following a strong plus: Mandarin, Japanese, Korean.
