We now invite applications for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Science Education in the Faculty of Education
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for teaching secondary and primary science education courses, and core inquiry-based educational studies courses primarily at postgraduate level, but also possibly at the undergraduate level, with key responsibilities including planning, developing, implementing, delivering, and evaluating courses and curriculum. He/She will also be expected to supervise teaching practicum and student research projects, support programme activities, enhance the student learning experiences, provide academic guidance, and perform administrative duties as appropriate.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Science Education or a closely related field and at least 5 years’ teaching experience in related areas in schools or tertiary institutions. They are expected to provide evidence of quality teaching and/or a proven record of successful, relevant professional experience at the primary, secondary, or tertiary level, be highly versatile in their teaching abilities, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Applicants holding the Registered Teacher status recognized by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong or other equivalent qualifications, as well as knowledge of the local context would be preferred. Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years, to commence on August 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
