As a Senior Business Analyst, your typical day might include:
1. Strategic Navigator: Chart the Course of Product Innovation
Pioneer solutions by crafting razor-sharp user stories and requirements that align with our overall PARIS product vision, ensuring every feature solves real problems for our fleet of vessels and seafarers
Decode stakeholder needs —transform vague requests into crystal-clear requirements using critical thinking, separating “wants” from mission-critical objectives and needs
Shape the future : Partner with Product Managers to evolve the product roadmap, balancing ambition with feasibility while challenging assumptions to future-proof our PARIS ecosystem
Anticipate storms before they hit : Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to steer projects clear of icebergs and toward seamless execution
2. Collaborative Architect: Build Bridges Between Vision and Reality
Orchestrate cross-functional crews : Lead dynamic partnerships with tech, operations, and external stakeholders to map needs, negotiate priorities, and align solutions with Fleet’s strategic North Star
Champion change : Design and steer rollout strategies for new products, ensuring smooth adoption through training, communication, and stakeholder engagement—because innovation only matters if it’s embraced
Engineer efficiency : Spot bottlenecks in workflows and processes, then implement upgrades that keep our product development engine running like a well-oiled ship’s engine room
3. Agile Problem-Solver: Turn Data into Decisive Action
Master the art of triage : Juggle multiple high-stakes projects with finesse, prioritising tasks like a captain navigating through shifting tides—always keeping the end goal in sight
Unlock insights : Dive into user feedback and UX analytics to dissect what’s working, what’s not, and why , turning raw data into actionable strategies that elevate product performance
Mentor the next wave : Guide other Business Analysts with your expertise, fostering a culture of excellence where clear thinking, rapid iteration, and collaboration are the compass for success
Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL:
5+ years of experience working in a Business Analysis role in developing repeatable, scalable IT products
Effective and confident communication in written and spoken English – getting messages across clearly and concisely
Strong mindset on understanding the use of data to help drive prioritisation - demonstrated through the use of either: advanced Excel skills, or use of database skills such as SQL and ElasticSearch or GoogleAnalytics for UX analytics
Led change management initiatives across a large department / company to land new capability smoothly and effectively
Demonstration of influencing senior stakeholders (Director level including C-Level)
Evidence of mentoring other Business Analysts to help them grow and reach their potential
Experience of independent working - ability to drive an initiative forward with limited guidance
DESIRABLE:
Qualification in process mapping (such as Lean Six Sigma)
Maritime / Shipping industry experience would be a huge plus – or similar industries such as Aviation
Proficient problem-solving skills including ability to resolve complex problems using data or tools like Google Analytics

Planning & Organising: Uses the supplied tools for structured planning for optimal time use. Balances competing priorities. Promptly updates people when plans change and keep updated on progress. Adjusts own plans based on FML strategies and plans.
Initiative: Always looks for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in their own and other peoples work backed by clear rationale and benefits to the business. Role models desired change behaviour and uses external best practice as reference.
Accountability: Responsible for delivering own work without unnecessary supervision. Always demonstrates integrity and ethical behaviour being a role model for others. Invites constructive feedback adjusting actions accordingly. Thinks through mistakes made and finds ways to prevent reoccurrence.
Resilience and managing wellbeing: Is willing to take on additional unplanned urgent tasks when required without sacrificing performance standards. Knows how to priories and break down tasks, and when to escalate to his managed to manage pressure.
Adaptability: Seeks to understand the rationale for changes at Fleet looking for different perspectives to facilitate and positively contribute to the initiatives within the team and themselves.
