Generation is an independent nonprofit founded in 2014 by McKinsey & Company to help bridge the education to employment gap - at speed and scale. We have trained and graduated 119,000+ people into careers across 18 countries with diverse social, economic and labor-market contexts. Our effort in Hong Kong covers 7 training programs in 3 future-oriented industries since 2018. Over 1,000 learners have been trained from over 40 cohorts. And the employment rate of our learners after graduation is close to 90%. Everything we do is to support underserved individuals into life-changing careers. Marketing and Communications Manager*

Candidate with lesser experience will be offered the role of Assistant Manager.

 

JOB OVERVIEW 

The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in initiating, and implementing marketing and communications initiatives that align with program objectives of a project that aims to foster an elder-centric compassion ecosystem by cultivating and nurturing change champions in Hong Kong. The person will report to the Director, Marketing & Communications, with a dotted reporting line to the Program Director for matters related to content, event and campaign development, and communications-related project support. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and the funder, the Manager will ensure alignment across all stakeholders to achieve successful initiatives delivery. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

● Plan and execute marketing and communication campaigns to strategically enhance public awareness, strengthen stakeholder (especially industry) engagement, and scale impact. 

● Develop communication materials, content, and campaigns (including PR and knowledge management initiatives) to effectively promote the program and reach target audiences.

● Identify and/or create speaking and other industry engagement opportunities to facilitate discussions on project-related topics.

● Organize public events and/or exhibitions to increase the demand for compassionate eldercare talent and improve the sector’s image.

● Track and analyze the performance of online and offline campaigns, refining marketing initiatives and strategies accordingly.

● Coordinate with vendors and agencies to execute marketing and communication initiatives.

● Plan and manage the communications budget.

● Perform other marketing-related tasks as assigned by management.

 

WHAT CALIBRES YOU NEED TO POSSESS:

  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in NGOs, education, business management, project management, or charity projects in Hong Kong.
  • Experience in planning and/or executing both online and offline campaigns and initiatives, such as events, content creation, advertising, media engagement, and/or performance tracking.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design, publication layout, booth/exhibition design, and video production. Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or video editing software is a plus.
  • An innovative communicator and skilled copywriter, proficiency in both written and verbal English and Chinese (Cantonese).
  • A strategic and creative mindset to contribute to program objectives, align communication initiatives with goals, and support key KPIs.
  • Strong project management skills with a problem-solving approach, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities without day-to-day guidance. 
  • Immediate availability is preferred.
