Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hybrid Infrastructure Solution Presales Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on designing, presenting, and promoting hybrid infrastructure solutions that combine Microsoft Azure cloud services with on-premises virtualization platforms, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), servers, and storage technologies. The ideal candidate will act as a technical evangelist, collaborating with sales teams to engage customers, understand their needs, and architect tailored solutions that drive business value. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to design hybrid infrastructure solutions leveraging Azure, on-premises virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), AKS, server hardware, and storage systems.
- Partner with the sales team to deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) deployments to showcase the value of hybrid infrastructure solutions.
- Conduct discovery sessions with clients to understand their business requirements, technical challenges, and IT environments, translating them into actionable solution proposals.
- Provide deep knowledge of Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, AKS), on-premises virtualization platforms, container orchestration, server infrastructure, and storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object storage).
- Educate customers on the benefits of hybrid cloud strategies, including integration of Azure Arc, AKS hybrid deployments, and on-premises infrastructure modernization.
- Prepare detailed solution architectures, scopes of work, effort estimates on professional services and cost estimate on products, and technical documentation to support sales proposals and RFPs.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and advancements in Azure, Kubernetes, virtualization, server, and storage technologies to position our solutions effectively.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and post-sales teams to ensure seamless transition from presales to post-sales implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a presales, solution architect, or technical consulting role with a focus on hybrid infrastructure, cloud computing, or IT solutions. Prior experience in a customer-facing role within a technology vendor, systems integrator, or consultancy is preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (e.g., VMs, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual WAN, AVD, AVS, AKS).
- Hands-on experience with on-premises virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VPN, SDN, load balancing) in hybrid environments.
- Proficiency with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Knowledge of server hardware (e.g., Dell, HPE, Lenovo) and storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, Azure File Sync).
- Familiarity with Veeam backup tools e.g. Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Data Cloud is an advantage.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud management tools like Azure Arc is an advantage.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform is an advantage.
- Experience with Azure Stack HCI or other hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solution is an advantage.
- Background in DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, GitOps) is an advantage.
- Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKA, CKAD).
- Soft Skills:
- Proficient in Cantonese, English and Putonghua.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to assess customer needs and propose innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong customer relationships.
