The appointee will be responsible for the efficient and professional administration of the Master of Science Program in Economics, including but not limited to the following major areas:
Student Recruitment: Manage program admission and marketing initiatives, including and are not limited to planning and executing marketing events, updating the program website, answering enquiries, preparing applicants summaries, collaborating with the admission committee to make final decisions on applicant acceptance, identifying opportunities for efficiency enhancements to ensure timely and accurate decision making, and coordinating with internal units on admission-related matters.
Academic Management: Assist the Department Head and Academic Director on managing curriculum development, course offerings, class scheduling and classroom arrangements; providing administrative support to teaching faculty to ensure smooth teaching experience.
Student/Alumni Management: Academic advising; Organize student engagement activities; oversee the program’s exchange program and scholarship selection process. Plan and organize alumni events in Hong Kong and abroad.
Program Operation: manage a small team to provide day-to-day program operation and administration and manage ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Applicants should hold a recognized bachelor's degree and have at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in program administration and/or in the education sector. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the role of Assistant Manager.
The ideal candidate should have a problem-solving mindset and is able to work both independently and in a team that shows attention to detail, and is able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
The appointee should also be a good team player and possess good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as co-ordination skills. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese is required. Working outside normal office hours, including weekends, is occasionally required. (Duration: 2 years)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
