What the role is?

The Head of Distribution Services & Support (DSS) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of services and support to the distribution network of the insurance company. This role ensures the efficient operation of sales support, enhances distributor relationships, and drives the achievement of sales targets by optimizing processes, leading a high-performing team, and aligning support activities with the company’s overall sales and distribution strategy. The role also focuses on improving the overall distributor experience through exceptional service delivery and strategic initiatives.

This role reports directly to the Chief Distribution Officer.

Key duties:

1. Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Distribution Services & Support strategy to enhance company’s sales and distribution channels.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate DSS initiatives into the overall distribution strategy.

2. Team Leadership and Development

• Lead and mentor a high-performing DSS team by provide coaching and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and goals for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

3. Operational Excellence

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of sales orders, commissions, and incentives for distributors.
• Streamline processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the distributor experience.
• Monitor key performance metrics for continuous improvement.

4. Distributor Relationship Management

• Manage strong relationships with key distributors for escalated issues and strategic discussions.
• Collaborate with sales team to improve distributor engagement and performance, while executing initiatives based on distributor’s feedback.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with internal stakeholders such as marketing, IT, and sales professionals, and external business units of the Group.
• Represent the DSS function in senior leadership meetings, providing insights and make sensible decisions.
• Collaborate with the Product Development team to support the launch of new products and ensure distributors are well-prepared to sell them.

What we look for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Significant leadership experience with at least 12 years’ experience in sales support, operations or in a related position in the insurance industry.
• Proven experience in the insurance industry, with a deep understanding of distribution channels and sales processes.
• Skilled at project management.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and willing to take extra mile and make positive impact to the business.
• Agile and adaptable, able to build up and develop the new Distribution support initiatives with strong “will to win” and determination.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
