The Technician is responsible for the Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) operation and maintenance of the Student Activity Centre and School Campus.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Receive work orders and execute the work to fit the daily schedule assigned by Managers
• Supervise outsourced contractor performance for the work
• Maintain stock of tools & materials enough for daily operation, assist Engineering Manager for refill ordering
• Carry out routine inspection of E&M facilities as directed by the Engineering Manager, and take regular reading and record
• Maintain and operate the electrical, MVAC, fire services, plumbing & drainage and ELV system
• Attend emergency call or special duty as assigned by Engineering Manager in case of facilities breakdown or special event
• Assist in setting up major school functions and events
• Assist the Engineering Manager in sustainability initiatives, monitoring the effectiveness and quality of work
• Assist Engineering Manager for T&C work and handover of new facilities
• Keep the work area safe and clean
• Undertake other duties and functions as required that will impact and strengthen the contributions of the department and overall operations of the school.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Technical institute graduate in mechanical or electrical engineering
• EMSD Registered Electrical Worker (REW) license A or B
• WSD Licensed Plumber is preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in E&M system operation, maintenance and installation
• Experience in hotels, school or institutes will be an advantage
• Experience in new facilities handover and T&C work

Skills:

• Knowledge of AV system operation
• Basic written and verbal English
• Good knowledge of the use of general computer software (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel)
• A good team player and good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in a multicultural work environment
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
