We are looking to appoint a full time Education Assistant for Learning Support to help within the Student Support Services Department, starting in August the new school year
The person will be working at our brand new and contemporary campus at Borrett Road at Mid-Level.
Our EAs perform a wide range of tasks including working alongside subjects teachers to plan for and make accommodations to materials and resources to support students, working 1 to 1 with students and small groups and general English support with academic writing as well as range of curriculum areas. We are looking for someone confident and patient with a good sense of humour with English at a native speaker level.
Candidates must be orally fluent in English and have an excellent standard of written English. The candidate must be able to support the development of secondary students’ literacy skills and numeracy skills. The successful candidate will support students in mainstream lessons across the curriculum, including the school’s cross-curricular inter-disciplinary topics amongst others, as well as in small groups and individually when withdrawn. An ability to be flexible and imaginative in your responses to students’ learning will be very important. This is particularly important because the target students have a range of learning diverse needs including dyslexia, ADHD, ASD. They may need literacy or executive functioning support.
