About the Role:
The role’s primary focus will be to carry out the University’s recruitment activities in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea, managing and delivering in-country projects and activities (working closely with UK-based regional team as well as mainland China-based colleagues), supporting the International Student Recruitment leadership team in providing a resilient base of applications and enrolments to the University.
Responsibility will be given for determining, planning, and implementing the University's recruitment activities in a key region including accountability for allocated budgets and ensuring appropriate return on investment, and overseeing a marketing communications plan for your region (please note: markets may be adjusted from time to time). Recruitment will be to degree-level programmes as well as to inbound study abroad programmes, summer schools and foundation programmes, in addition to working with (international) high schools and agent partners to provide a sustainable and diverse recruitment pipeline. You will also be required to work closely with the Global Mobility team and with relevant International Partnership Managers to support the recruitment pipeline for suitable educational and mobility partnerships within your area of geographical responsibility. In undertaking these activities, you will be an effective and supportive member of the International Office team, acting as an ambassador for the University both in the UK and overseas.
In addition, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and developing relationships with the University’s key stakeholders in the region including but not limited to, visits to universities, the preparation, and delivery of presentations and workshops to students, agents, and school counsellors, representing the University at education exhibitions, delivering in-country events and developing relationships with key schools, colleges, universities, and agents.

2. Provide specialist market advice and information, practical assistance, and encouragement to the University's academic groupings in their international student recruitment and partnership activities:
3. To update and maintain internal and external guidance on the equivalencies of local qualifications and to assist schools and admissions staff in applying this information consistently.
4. Build up expert cultural knowledge and market intelligence to inform strategies for the International Office team in advising the University's senior management and faculties.
5. Develop long-term sustainable relationships with key influencers, developing and maintaining a wide range of contacts with international schools, colleges, universities, and funding bodies (including government ministries, embassies, etc). British Council, agents, and the University alumni and others, as appropriate to the context of the market, in pursuit of the main functions of the post.
6. Contribute towards broader initiatives to ensure and implement an excellent applicant and student experience. This includes participation in cross-functional activities such as alumni reception events, confirmation, and clearing, career-related events, etc.
7. Any other duties as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post holder.
