The AFRC Summer Internship Programme offers undergraduates a valuable opportunity to gain practical working and regulatory experience. Interns will enhance their understanding of the functions and operations of the AFRC through taking part in the day-to-day operations of the AFRC.


The Programme is open to undergraduates in second year or above, majoring in Accounting, Economics, Management or Law. Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following streams:

  1. Inspection and Investigation;
  2. Discipline and Legal; and
  3. Policy and Oversight.


Internship Period

Between June to August 2025 (6 to 8 weeks)


Details of the three streams are as follows:-


(1) Inspection and Investigation Stream

Undergraduates majoring in Accounting will improve their knowledge of the accounting profession, auditor obligations, and the functions of the AFRC in inspection and investigation. This will be performed by participating in the inspection process, reviewing financial statements, and supporting in the handling of complaints. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, commercial awareness, and an interest in global financial markets, accounting, and auditing is required. Proficiency in Chinese word processing is an advantage.



(2) Discipline and Legal Stream

Law students will gain solid knowledge of the AFRC’s disciplinary process and practical legal and regulatory experience through assisting in the preparation of disciplinary, tribunal and/or court cases, preparing various legal documents and conducting legal research. Strong legal research and drafting skills are required.



(3) Policy and Oversight Stream

Undergraduates majoring in Accounting, Economics, and Management will be able to learn and apply research methodologies in real world by participating in policy research on financial reporting, sustainability, and auditing. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse, international team of professionals. Experience in data science, coding and/or financial databases is beneficial.
