travSIM specialises in international travel eSIMs and SIM cards, providing seamless connectivity solutions for travellers worldwide. We focus on eSIM solutions that help international travellers avoid roaming charges and stay connected abroad.

Additionally, we are developing a management app for GPS tracking and IoT data SIMs, enabling efficient monitoring and management of connected devices. Our goal is to deliver user-friendly communication services for both personal travel and IoT connectivity.

As part of our expansion, we are establishing a Hong Kong office to support our global operations.

This role will primarily focus on mobile app development but will also incorporate leadership responsibilities , ensuring the successful operation of our Hong Kong office.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced iOS & Android App Developer to join our team in Hong Kong. This role is primarily technical, requiring hands-on development of mobile applications, but also includes team leadership and operational oversight .

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring seamless integration with our eSIM travel services and IoT SIM management solutions. Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Hong Kong office , helping to manage the team and coordinate with our German headquarters.

This is a senior role suited for a highly skilled developer who is also looking to step into a leadership position , combining technical expertise with business oversight.

Responsibilities

Primary: Mobile App Development

✅ Develop and maintain native iOS and Android applications, ensuring high performance and smooth functionality.

✅ Work with product managers and designers to implement new features and improve the user experience.

✅ Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services to enable core app functionalities such as user account management, eSIM purchases, and device monitoring.

✅ Debug and optimise applications to ensure seamless performance across different devices and OS versions.

✅ Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates, and emerging mobile technologies.

Secondary: Leadership & Office Management

✅ Oversee daily operations of the Hong Kong office, ensuring smooth workflow and team coordination.

✅ Act as a liaison between the Hong Kong office and travSIM headquarters in Germany, ensuring strategic alignment.

✅ Manage local business development efforts , identifying new opportunities for expansion within the Hong Kong and Asia-Pacific market.

✅ Build and lead a team , fostering a positive, innovative, and productive work culture.

✅ Support financial planning and budgeting related to Hong Kong operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

✅ Assist in customer acquisition and retention strategies , supporting the business growth of travSIM in the region.

Requirements

✅ Hong Kong Citizenship: Applicants must be Hong Kong citizens and currently reside in Hong Kong.

✅ Language: Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

✅ Education & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in mobile app development.
• Experience leading a team or managing projects is a plus.

✅ Technical Expertise:

• iOS Development: Proficiency in Swift (Objective-C is a plus), experience with iOS frameworks, libraries, and full app lifecycle development.
• Android Development: Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, experience with Android SDK and development tools.
• API & Backend Integration: Experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services. Ability to manage data storage, synchronisation, and offline functionality.
• UI/UX Knowledge: Strong understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design principles.
• Problem-Solving: Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to optimise code for better performance.

✅ Leadership & Business Knowledge: Experience in team management, business operations, or market expansion is an advantage but not required.
