Job Overview:

This role plays an important role in the Marketing team to tell captivating stories about our distinctive brands across the complex media and social landscape in ways that are innovative, creative and strategic. We create ways for audiences around the world to find out about and experience our brands even before stepping in, and we collaborate tightly with our properties to bring new creative ideas to life. Key Responsibilities:

Welcome to the core of what being a Marketing Manager - PR & Event is all about!

Here's the quick lowdown on what you'll do day-to-day:

  • Report to the Assistant Director of Marketing – Brand & Communications
  • Represent our brands The House Collective, EAST and Swire Hotels to establish, maintain and build local and international connections with key media and influencer partners
  • Manage our PR agencies, media and influencer partners, giving them strategic and on-brand direction to achieve our yearly goals for our brands, including targeting important awards, thought leadership, and publicity in both consumer lifestyle as well as corporate media/ channels across key target markets
  • Lead and work closely with our properties’ MarCom leads to guide and consolidate our activities in order to maximize the publicity opportunities of our campaigns in different countries
  • Define PR and influencer marketing strategies to meet the yearly marketing goals on publicity related to the properties, products, design, brand partnerships, marketing campaigns and development activities
  • Organise and manage press activities involving Swire Hotels executive management team to promote and position the brand, raise awareness and market key company initiatives through the relevant media channels
  • Manage key brand events from development to execution, including invitation, event production, audio visual requirements, speaker management, overall logistics and post event administration, collaborating with relevant team members as well as external partners throughout the process
  • Craft and distribute brand-level and corporate press releases on key announcements and brand initiatives
  • Ensure media coverage is in line with our strategic direction and drive SHG brands’ worldwide exposure from local initiatives and brand stories
  • Schedule and manage crisis communications training for senior executives at the corporate office, as well as properties around the world
  • Travel regularly to our properties

Requirements:

Here's exactly what you need to excel in this role:

The Non-Negotiables (Must-Haves):

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a public relations and event planning role for a global brand or an agency with a strategic vision for how to maximize business results
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
  • Experience leading and managing compact corporate and regional teams, as well as PR agencies
  • Experience in leading event programme planning, including target audience experience mapping, event portfolio analysis and integration with other marketing tactics
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders with different perspectives and priorities

  • Affinity for international travel, lifestyle and business media

  • Experience in activating China market
