The research team led by Professor Shi Cheng, Research Assistant Professor, (https://scholars.ln.edu.hk/en/persons/cheng-shi) is seeking a highly motivated Research Officer / Assistant Research Officer to work on a feasibility study on the efficacy of a VR-based mindfulness intervention for dementia caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support the execution of a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) project
  • Assist in coordinating participant recruitment, enrollment, and intervention implementation
  • Support data collection processes and ensure accurate transcription of research data
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to research activities
  • Contribute to other relevant research tasks and administrative duties as required
     

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Medicine, Social Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in research implementation, data collection (e.g., fieldwork, surveys) and project coordination
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques (both quantitative and qualitative)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese (both written and spoken) is essential
  • Expected commencement date: Early July 2025

Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of  up to 11 months.  Renewal of contract will be subject to the performance and the funding availability.
