Library Assistant (Administrative Services) in the University Libraries (Ref.: 531619)
We are looking for a Library Assistant to join the University Libraries to provide quality service for Administrative Services and/or other functional area(s).
The Role
Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager, the appointee will provide support to the Administrative Services Division on a wide range of administrative matters as follows:
• Driving library light goods vehicle for the pickup and delivery of library materials to various locations (e.g., Main Library, branch libraries, remote storages, etc.);
• Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials to various locations;
• Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the library light goods vehicle;
• Assisting with the management and maintenance of library facilities;
• Providing logistics support for Library events;
• Performing other duties as assigned;
• Working outside normal office hours may be required.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess:
• 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, preferably with a recognized degree;
• At least 3 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a logistics field;
• A valid full driving license (light goods vehicle).
Essential qualities include:
• A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese);
• Basic knowledge of PC and computer software literacy (such as MS Office);
• Good driving attitude and a clean driving record;
• A customer-oriented mindset;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong organizational and time management skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Self-motivated and capable of multitasking.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
