A leading aircraft lessor with global presence is expanding its legal division in Hong Kong.
The Company:
We have been mandated by a leading player in the aircraft leasing space to recruit an additional lawyer as part of the firm's continual growth in the region. Based in their Hong Kong office, my client is open to experienced private practice lawyers who are interested in venturing into the in-house space.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of transactional and financing agreements in relation to aircraft and business operations in various jurisdictions, including English law/HK law, aircraft finance, corporate finance, leasing, portfolio trade etc.
- Deal with transactions through the documentation phase to closing with deal deadlines.
- Collate and manage input from technical, risk, finance and commercial departments into transaction documentation and negotiation.
- Review, draft and prepare letters of intent, purchase, sales and lease agreements, and a variety of commercial contracts in relation to aircraft.
- Manage and coordinate the work of outside counsel in diverse foreign jurisdictions.
Requirements:
- Common law qualified lawyers with 5-8 years PQE in the asset finance/aircraft leasing space.
- Those with only private practice experience will be considered.
- Strong working understanding of managing regional and global corporate commercial matters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently with minimal internal support is required.
- Besides a strong command of English, fluency in Chinese.
- Candidates from Mainland China who possess UK legal qualifications that are looking to relocate to HK will also be considered.
