About the Centre for Water Technology and Policy

The Centre for Water Technology and Policy at The University of Hong Kong, established in 2018, conducts cutting-edge research on water technology-policy interface issues that would result in findings of direct practical relevance for Hong Kong’s urban water sector. About the position:
We are looking for an Executive Assistant to support the implementation of a citywide water conservation project that targets high-consumption users in both the domestic and the non-domestic sectors. The appointee will assist with fieldwork coordination, data input, and logistical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth project delivery. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a water sustainability-focused project, working closely with academics, industry experts, and policymakers.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with participants’ registration and follow-up matters, as well as handle participants’ enquiries
  • Coordinate site access and confirm work schedules with property managers and external parties
  • Organise and input data into databases and maintain research project records, including participants’ agreements, inventories, and data logs
  • Manage the project’s paperwork, including procurement and reimbursement matters
  • Support outreach activities and project events, ensuring smooth project planning and efficient execution
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or his delegates

Qualifications and requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree or diploma
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including MS Word and MS Excel)
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese (written and spoken).
  • Proactive team player who is able to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.

What we offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
