About the Role:

As the head of product at MeeOpp, you will help lead product strategy, planning, delivery, and continual improvement of our product. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and other product managers to refine our product roadmap and drive its execution, taking ownership over key areas of it.

You are pragmatic, empathetic, and are able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical individuals. Our engineering team releases often, and you should be comfortable taking advantage of the release cycle to deliver value quickly and iteratively. Lastly, you’ve seen how technology is changing how people learn, and want to help build the future of personalised learning.

Responsibilities :

  • Understand business strategies, validate requirements and propose solutions; translate business strategy into product strategy that positively impacts the student and teacher experience
  • Own key parts of the product roadmap and manage releases in a disciplined manner
  • Develop and maintain detailed and intuitive project plans, timelines, risks, and other documentations to drive progress and communication
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the business to build a product aligned with the the visions and goals of the business
  • Continuously improve and iterate on the company’s release timeline, processes and schedule so that the team can be maximally productive
  • Carry out and manage user testing, identify potential risks, flag deviations, and implement timely mitigations to safeguard quality and adherence
  • Craft out optimal user journeys with the UX/UI team through competitor analysis, market trend reviews and user research
  • Articulate the product vision to engineers and serve as the product expert
  • Lead, participate and guide scrum meetings (planning meetings, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives) while actively speak out on behalf of the user
  • Improve, maintain and prioritise the product backlog
  • Build, monitor and analyse the impact of feature releases via multiple channels such as feedback from users, surveys and built-in tools.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management or related disciplines
  • Strong technical background (e.g. software development experience, a technical degree, or experience working in a software company)
  • Familiarity with agile software development processes
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools for extracting insights from user behavior
  • Excellent communication skills

Bonus Points for:

  • Familiarity with UX/UI prototyping tools
  • Experience with Jira
  • Data driven
  • Prior work experience in the education industry
  • Some knowledge of Mandarin (beginner level is OK)

Language requirements:

  • English fluency (our software development team operates in English, and company meetings are in English)
  • Conversational Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus, but is not required
